At Audio Analytic we’ve built a market for artificial audio intelligence within the high-volume consumer electronics sector, and we’ve signed several high-profile marquee customers. We’re recognised as the leaders in the field of AI and sound recognition both by our customers and by market commentators such as IDC and Wired.

Joining the Platforms Engineering team, you will contribute to the development of tooling and mission-critical platforms to support our machine learning of sounds. This includes Alexandria™, the world’s largest commercially-exploitable audio data platform for consumer electronics; our machine learning computation platform; and our audio engineering frameworks.

You’ll be based in our Cambridge office, which is right in the middle of town. For a fast-paced company, our culture is what you’d expect: relaxed, fun, close-knit, hardworking and very rewarding.

 

Primary role

Your primary responsibilities will be to deliver high quality, maintainable and robust code in an agile manner. You will be working closely with other Platforms Engineering team members. In addition, you will be working with other technical teams such as Machine Learning Engineering and Data Engineering. There are many friendly and experienced engineers to help you develop your skills and deliver the company’s technical vision.

 

Skills and experience

Required

  • An understanding of professional software engineering practices
  • Proven programming skills ideally in Python and/or Java
  • Analytical with a data-driven approach to making decisions
  • An interest in learning a range of technical skills
  • Drive and enthusiasm to work in a multi-faceted environment

Desirable

  • Experience using Linux and the command line
  • An interest in audio
  • An interest in machine learning

Education

A numerate/engineering degree, ideally in Computer Science or software-related. You are also likely to have three A’s at A-level, or equivalent.
