CES 2019 preview: more sounds, more applications, more opportunities

At CES 2018 we demonstrated our sound recognition technology running on a smart speaker, enhancing consumer peace-of-mind by protecting the home while it was unoccupied. We also announced forthcoming devices from our customer Centrica Hive, and a partnership with Bragi to explore the potential of sound recognition on hearables.

For CES 2019 we’ll be taking a major leap forward again. We’ll showcase sound recognition’s huge potential to deliver compelling consumer benefits on a wide range of products and across a number of values and applications.

We’ll be taking invited guests on a tour of:

  • The intelligent home, where devices like smart speakers, cameras and doorbells use sound recognition to further enhance security inside and outside, and to monitor the health and wellbeing of the occupants
  • Intelligent sound recognition on the move, monitoring consumer health, wellbeing, security and safety through hearables and smartphones
  • The contextually aware car that detects driver distractions as well as helps drivers and autonomous vehicles detect potential hazards outside.

“CES presents us with a great opportunity each year to share where we are on our mission to teach machines to hear. As the leader in this space, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what the sense of hearing can do for consumer technology, and it gives our customers the chance to be inspired with new AI capabilities which will find their way into next-generation devices”
