Smart lights get ears for the first time
Sengled, a leading manufacturer of innovative smart lighting solutions for the smart home, is combining intelligent sound recognition with the world of smart lighting for the first time.
Sengled Voice is a new and highly innovative integrated microphone, loudspeaker and LED bulb that includes Audio Analytic’s sound recognition technology. It has been awarded the 2016 CES Best of Innovation in the Smart Home product category and is scheduled for consumer launch later this year.
Hearing can be critical in detecting when things are happening in the home, but if no-one is there to hear them, sounds go unheeded and damage to property and possessions can result.
Chris Mitchell, CEO of Audio Analytic said “We are very excited to be working with Sengled, one of an increasing number of global companies incorporating Audio Analytic’s unique sound recognition software into consumer smart home devices and products, and the only one to do so in the LED smart lighting world.”
In November Audio Analytics was identified alongside Video Analytics as the number one trend for Smart Home technologies in 2016 by CePro, the leading trade publication for professionals involved in the custom electronics business.
Audio Analytic’s innovative and proprietary software recognises target sounds in the home without impinging on the occupiers’ privacy. The software runs on a connected device, and when it recognises a sound it triggers the device both to notify the home owner and to instruct the smart home itself to take appropriate protective action.
